General
the good, the bad and the unexpected
This weekend Jont headed to France for a wedding, leaving Dave and Garfield to their own devices. Look at those matching Cheshire Cat grins... would you leave them unsupervised?
Rather than let them run riot round Glasgow alone on Saturday night, Gregor from the band Sparrow and the Workshop - who will soon be supporting British Sea Power on tour - treated the lads to an eye-opening evening at the Grand Ole Opry Country and Western Club.
Here the wild west is alive and kicking like a wild stallion, with cowboys and saloon gals as far as the eye can see. There's line dancing and a quick draw shoot-out competition, then the Confederate flag is raised at the end of the night and everyone sings the anthem. Whoever said patriotism is dead clearly hasn't enjoyed a night at the Grand Ole Opry yet...
Intrigued by this unexpected slice of the wild west in the heart of Glasgow, Tour HQ asked Dave and Garfield to briefly sum up their evening.
The verdict: "A rootin', tootin', hoedown!".
We say yee haa to that.
