musical round-up: part 2
Hi! Tour HQ here, fresh from the weekend.
Last week we started the Musical Round-Up: compilation posts for all the great support acts that have played alongside Jont at the Unlits. Some of them are already up on our nifty gallery to the right too.
Part 1 of Musical Round-Up finished up with the bands from the Liverpool episode. After bringing you music from Merseyside, Jont, Dave and Garf headed inland to Manchester where they met up with Bad Marmalade, Ivan Campo, Louis Barabbas and Emmanuel Jal.
Leaving Manchester behind, the guys hit Newcastle for a mini gig with Kathryn Williams before moving onto Berwick-upon-Tweed and the infamous smallest gig in the world with Derek Meins. And let's not forget a jam with Arthur from Artanker Convoy on the bus.
Over the border into Scotland and Aberdeen was the next stopover. There Jont was joined by Right Hand Left, Indian Red Lopez, Rescue Party and The Little Kicks...
Which neatly takes us to last Friday night's gig in Cardross, which was hosted by Ali Moodie who also performed. Here there was a musical feast for the senses with A Wooden Box, The Martial Arts, The Streetlight Conspiracy, Rags and Feathers, Rodent Emporium, Sparrow and the Workshop and finally, artist Robin - Ali's stepbrother - provided some fantastic visuals.
Jont is back from France today so we'll be catching up with him later on for his take on Friday's gig. Stay tuned...
